Meet the People Behind the Music
OWNER / INSTRUCTOR
Connie Y.
Connie has been playing piano for over 20 years, receiving a private education in piano technique, music theory, and music history. This includes completing the Royal Conservatory of Piano’s Level 10 certification. She has also been teaching since 2017, with many happy students.
INSTRUCTOR
Justin L.
Justin has been playing piano for more than 20 years. Along with teaching, Justin is also involved in researching how the brain processes music, and is also actively teaching in the public school system. Justin freely admits to being proud of the hard work he has had to devote to getting over a common pianist's challenge when performing: stage fright. I am certain the lessons he has learned during this effort will be of great benefit to his students. Justin has loved music for as long as he can recall and looks forward to "challenging his students with music that suits their interests, playing their favourite songs and creating chord progressions that may, eventually, turn into their very own compositions."
INSTRUCTOR

"I have been playing piano since I was 3 and a half years old, for almost 16 years now! I have completed my RCM level 8 practical and theory exams and won a couple of competitions as a child. I love listening to and playing pieces by Chopin because many of them are written in minor keys. In general, some of my favourite musical artists include Frank Sinatra, Syd Matters, The Smiths, and Frank Ocean. I love music because it’s a universal language. Learning how to play the piano not only helps you with your hand-eye coordination, but it’s a great way to connect with the people around you. I’m excited to teach my students music they are passionate about because it accelerates the learning process. Not only does their progress accelerate tenfold, but students usually retain new skills more effectively when they’re taught using methods they enjoy. I look forward to tailoring my teaching style to each student, and I am always open and receptive to feedback."

- FOUNDER'S MESSAGE -
Miss Jennie has been passionate about music for over 40 years and has taught piano and music theory for more than half that time. Early in her studies, she noticed that traditional piano lessons sometimes felt rigid, leaving little room for students to explore and play “just for fun.” This inspired her to create a different kind of learning experience: one that combines skill-building with lots of enjoyment.​
At Fun & Enjoyable Piano Lessons, Miss Jennie focused on getting to know each student’s aspirations and tailored lessons to their goals. Her approach helped students see practice as play, unlocking abilities they might not have realized they had. Over the years, students have thrived in Royal Conservatory exams, music festivals, and, most importantly, in their own love of music.​
As the studio moves into new leadership under Miss Connie Yi, Miss Jennie remains closely connected as an advisor and mentor:​
